Everyone gets first date jitters or makes a plan that they wish they could skip when the day actually arrives. But how one handles these sticky situations can vary greatly depending on their astrological sign. Some people buck up and face things head on, while others always have an excuse ready and have no problem bailing out at the last minute. Getting stood up is beyond irritating, but some signs don't seem to mind leaving people in the dust. Keep reading to find out the zodiac signs most likely to stand you up from a little undependable to phenomenally flaky.

Aquarius

Aquarius plays by their own rules and they're not going to mold themselves into some perfect little box. They are rebellious and free-spirited and might not be quite ready for commitment.

Emily Newman, an astrologist at Best of Psychic Reader shares that they like to detach themselves quickly and try not to be too involved in relationships. This makes them likely to leave others hanging without any explanation, whether that means not showing up to plans or ghosting after a few dates.

"If they are involved in a relationship, they [can often] leave without explanation," says Newman.

Cancers are highly sensitive and can sometimes struggle with creating boundaries for themselves. Ruled by the Moon, which is responsible for changeable moods, they can easily be influenced by the people or things around them.

Rachel Clare, a professional astrologist at Mystic Sense says this can lead to a scenario where they cancel plans to try and avoid conflict or protect their own emotional well-being.

Their element, water, represents depth of feeling and intuition and if a Cancer is feeling too much, they'll clam up and go back in their shell. "Don't be surprised if Cancers stand others up, by not showing up for a social event or canceling a date at the last minute," she says.

Sagittarius signs love to try new things and meet new people. Their need to be constantly doing something might be why they're likely to stand people up.

Newman explains that they could be working on multiple projects at the same time, traveling, or making new friends, so they could easily forget plans they made earlier on. They're also a fire sign and can make impulsive decisions without considering the consequences or the feelings of others.

If they do leave you hanging, it's on them and not you.

Taurus are usually pretty reliable and generally wouldn't stand someone up. However, they are ruled by Venus which represents luxury and pleasure and if you have any Taureans in your life, you'll know they prefer their own comfort over anything else.

Clare says this can sometimes cause them to prioritize their own desires over their obligations, especially when it comes to activities they don't find particularly enjoyable. Their stubbornness comes out and if they want to stay home rather than going out, that's what they're going to do.

Like Sagittarius, Leos are fire signs that don't like to be in one place for too long. Leos are self-assured, can be a bit dramatic, and tend to prioritize their wants and needs over anyone else's.

You may see some of their inconsiderate tendencies come to the surface when a new opportunity comes along and they're willing to ditch a date or friends to take it. "They never stick to a single thing, but the problem is they never give a reason, and leave the [other] person thinking," Newman says.

Geminis are curious and like to be flexible with what they say they're going to do. So if you make a plan with a gemini, you may want to have a backup. They can struggle with commitment, especially when it comes to keeping appointments and meeting obligations.

Ruled by Mercury, the planet associated with change and unpredictability, it's no surprise that they're the zodiac sign most likely to stand you up.

"Their element, air, represents their free-spirited and independent nature, which sometimes causes them to value their own desires over the expectations of others," Clare says.
