Many of us follow in our parents' footsteps when it comes to careers, but the trend seems to be particularly prevalent in Hollywood. Some of the biggest stars of the moment have come from A-list parents, from Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman's daughter Maya Hawke to Diana Ross's daughter Tracee Ellis Ross. And now, fans of the hottest new show on TV are figuring out that one of its breakout stars is the child of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick. Mare of Easttown star Sosie Bacon is Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick's daughter.

Mare of Easttown has received a lot of buzz following its thrilling limited series run that wrapped at the end of May. Recently, fans of the show were shocked to realize that one of its most captivating actors is Sosie Bacon, the 29-year-old daughter of Bacon and Sedgwick. She stars on the popular HBO crime drama as Carrie Layden, opposite Kate Winslet.

Although many fans were surprised to learn Sosie was the daughter of two famous actors, her parents had not been keeping it quiet. Both her mom and dad have been eagerly promoting Mare of Easttown on her behalf.

In late May, Kevin took to Instagram to share a video joking about his close connection to the show. "Hey everybody, I just wanted to say I'm watching that show. What's it called? Mare of Easttown," he said to the camera. "I especially like that actress, what's her name? Sosie something? I don't remember her last name, but it's like Sosie… I don't know, Sosie Hoagie or Sosie Wawa." He went on to say, "I can't remember her last name, but she's good." He closed out the video adding, "Anyway, that's all, just a good show. I like it."

Earlier in May, the famous couple also made a video promoting Mare of Easttown along with Kevin's new show, City on a Hill, and Sedgwick's Call Your Mother, proving they're a very busy—and talented—family.

Sosie made her acting debut when she was 13.

Sosie made her acting debut in the 2005 movie Loverboy with her parents when she was 13 years old, playing the younger version of her mom's character. (Her older brother, Travis Bacon, also appears in the movie.) Sosie also had a four-episode arc on her mother's popular show The Closer in 2009.

And while Sosie may be a new face to many Mare of Easttown viewers, she's had a handful of other acting credits—sans parents—including roles on 13 Reasons Why, Here and Now, Narcos, and Scream: The TV Series, among others.

Next up, she'll star on the Amazon autism dramedy On the Spectrum and also in the indie drama film Traces.

Bacon and Sedgwick, who've been married since 1988, first became parents to Travis in 1989.

After attending The Evergreen State College, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Audio Engineering in 2012, Travis started a career as a musician, eventually becoming the guitarist for the band Black Anvil in 2016.

Travis also produced songs for Sedgwick's 2017 Lifetime movie Story of a Girl, which Sosie and Kevin starred in. He also owns a recording company in New York called Broken Box.
